Just a couple hours south of Austin sits the tiny but mighty town of Panna Maria, known as the oldest Polish settlement in the United States. It’s the kind of quiet, close-knit community where everyone knows everyone and when wedding bells ring, the entire town comes alive!!
As an Austin wedding photographer, I love capturing celebrations all across Texas, but there is something especially meaningful about a Panna Maria wedding. From the moment the celebration began, it was clear this wasn’t going to be your average Texas wedding day.
The grand march kicked things off in true Polish tradition. The accordion came out., shots were poured, and the dance floor filled fast, with generations dancing side by side. The money dance brought everyone together in the best way, a heartfelt tradition that reflected the deep roots and strong community that make Texas weddings so special. Panna Maria is proof that small towns throw some of the biggest parties.
Truly, one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of.
If you’re planning a wedding in Austin, Panna Maria, or anywhere across Central or South Texas, I would love to capture your day! Whether you’re saying “I do” in a historic church, celebrating in a small-town hall, or dancing the night away under the Texas sky, I am here for it all!!
