When you incorporate your favorite date night hangouts into your engagement session, it doesn’t just look good, it means something. It helps tell your story!
Avery & Chris wanted their Downtown Austin engagement session to feel like one of their favorite nights out together. Not overly styled. Just the two of them, dressed up, bar hopping through the city where their story has unfolded.
And on a perfect 75° February evening? It was truly perfect!
Starting the Night at El Cockfight’s Rooftop
We started at El Cockfight, up on the rooftop with the skyline stretching behind them and that soft golden light reflecting off the buildings.
Avery kept it casual for this first stop, effortless and relaxed, like she was just meeting Chris for drinks after work. Chris matched that energy perfectly. They grabbed a high top table for two, enjoyed a glass together, and reminisced.
Engagement sessions in Downtown Austin are always a favorite of mine. The city brings movement and energy, and when couples choose locations they genuinely love, it changes everything. They fully leaned into the experience and made it a fun night out.
Back Where It All Began: Bar 508
Then we headed to Bar 508 and this is where it gets sentimental. This is where Avery & Chris had their first date. Bar 508 is known to be a Tequila & Mezcal bar. The funny part is.. Avery didn’t want to tell Chris she hates Mezcal before going on their first date, so he had no idea!
Avery changed into a white dress that felt bridal but still modern and chic. Chris wore a crisp white shirt with dress pants, and together they looked polished, romantic, and completely ready for their next chapter.
Of course, we had to have them start off in the exact seats they sat in on their first date. It was so sweet to see their love go full circle! Revisiting the place where it all started added a layer of meaning you simply cannot recreate anywhere else. The photos felt deeper, more personal, more layered. And that’s always the goal!
Avery & Chris, thank you for letting me third wheel the most perfect February night in Downtown Austin.
