Some sessions are just pure magic—and this one for Ashlyn and Virgilio had all the heartwarming, tear-worthy moments rolled into one dreamy golden-hour evening!
Ashlyn originally reached out to book a sweet pregnancy announcement photo session with her boyfriend at Brushy Creek Lake Park in Cedar Park, Texas. Together, we had everything planned: a soft neutral blanket, delicate baby’s breath flowers, their sonogram photo, and of course her mama-to-be glow. We were all set for a cozy sunset shoot to celebrate the exciting news of their growing family.
But what she didn’t know? There was an even bigger surprise waiting.
Shortly after booking her session, I got a private message from Virgilio—he was planning to propose during the session! We quickly got to working out all the details behind the scenes: the perfect spot, the right timing, and the subtle cues to make sure everything went off without a hitch, all while keeping it completely under wraps.
We started the session with those classic, heart-melting pregnancy announcement photos. Ashlyn looked absolutely radiant, and the love between them was so natural and effortless to capture, even with it being their first photo session together! The sunset at Brushy Creek Lake Park gave us that warm, glowing light that we all dream of. It was already a perfect session… and then came the twist.
As the sun dipped lower, we took a casual stroll to a quieter side of the park—just as we’d planned. As the light softened and the breeze settled, Virgilio got down on one knee and asked Ashlyn to spend forever with him.
Spoiler alert: She said YES! 💍💛
Ashlyn was completely surprised—in the best way—and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight (including mine, behind the lens). We celebrated the moment with a few just-engaged portraits, and of course, some extra hugs and happy squeals. It was the dreamiest combination of two life-changing moments: a pregnancy reveal and a surprise proposal!
